Well , i’ve been using the CL Eye drivers for a month or two now (For Skype) and I only use the microphone built in.

When I first installed the drivers, they didn’t work and after restarting my PC , unplugging and replugging, updating drivers and just generally messing around, I got it to work (after 20 minutes or so) and it worked for one day.

The next day when I turned my pc on again, and Skype basically said “Sound drivers not found for your mic, try restarting your pc so Skype can find them, ” it still didn’t work, also it isn’t just Skype , the windows Sound Recorder says “An audio recording device cannot be found.”

So I begin the installation process from scratch again, uninstall all traces of CL Eye, use CCleaner to make sure all temp files are cleared up and download the single camera drivers again, and again they don’t work straight away and after several hours of messing again, they are eventually working again.

Now this is a weekly/daily occurance , I say Weekly because they once lasted for 5-ish days, but the problem is, i don’t know what i’m doing to fix it each time, and some times it can take hours of screwing around to get the mic functioning again.

So today (after weeks of searching for help) I decided to ask for help myself, so if anyone can give me a straight answer or, if they require any more information ,please

I installed the driver and the cam works fine when I test it (using the CL-Eye Test). But yesterday, I tried to tinychat with someone and all I got was a black screen. So today, I tried testing it on different online webcam testing sites and the same thing happened. The sites recognize that it’s there but the picture never shows up.

How do I get it to work?

Hey experts!

I have synchronized two PS3 Eyes for a design project, and I am looking at building an external control unit that would allow me to set the frame rate and such outside of a computer. The problem is, I would also like to grab the video data coming from the camera without USB interface with a computer. Any ideas on how I could learn more about the data that the camera is sending and how to grab that data without using a computer?

Thanks in advance!

Hello,
At different places I have found this text about PS3 Eye Cam:

“As you may seen it before, here are the specs:
- 640 x 480 at 60 frames/second
- 320 x 240 at 120 frames/second
...”

but with the CL Eye Driver, when I use CL-Eye Test, or when I use Directshow filter with Graphedit or VLC I always find only a max frame rate of 30 for the 640 x 480 mode.

I have just discover these site today bought this cam this afternoon. So it’s my first try with it. perhaps I miss something.
All works very well in 5 minutes under WIN XP SP3 and a recent dual core.
A very good driver ! thank you!
But only 30 frames/sec in 640 x 480.
I have seen in the SDK that we can configure the framerate parameter
Camera Framerate - Depending on the selected resolution modes here is the list of allowed framerate values:
           LEYE_QVGA - 15, 30, 60, 75, 100, 125
           CLEYE_VGA - 15, 30, 40, 50, 60, 75
So my question is :
Does the PS3 Eye Cam can work in 640 x480 with 60 frames/sec parameter but the standard driver don’t allow that? (and we must develop with the API to be able to use the 60 value)
or
No the PS3 Eye Cam cannot run in 640 x 480 - 60 fps and thay are errors in the specs and the big values ( 60, 75..) in the API are for other cam?

Or do I have miss thomething?

Thanks for help.

Ok, so let’s get the basics out of the way. I’m using an Acer Aspire 5517 laptop with Windows 7 x64 OS.

Installed the PS Eye driver without incident. Mic works fine, picture quality is good, no complaints.

The problem is that I get these odd visual glitches. Half the image will scramble intermittently for a split second, and every now and then the entire image will scramble for about 2 seconds. I thought it was just with the test program but it also happens with other programs such as messenger. I’ve gone through every option available in the Test program and nothing really helps. Is there something I’m missing? I downloaded driver version 4.0.2.1017.

Also, is there any way to un-mirror the image?

Hey everyone!

I’ve got a problem using 3 PS3 cameras with the CLEye SDK. Here’s what my setup looks like:
I use one cam for touch tracking in C++ (reactivision) and two more cameras in a Java OpenGL application. I did activate all 3 Cameras and I am using the correct dll-file. What happens now, is that all 3 cameras are recognized whereever I call CLEyeGetCameraCount() first, and no cameras are found in the respective other application afterwards. It doesn’t matter which program I start first.
I tried to only plug in the cameras needed for one application, start it, then plug in the rest and start the other one. This doesn’t work, because the camera(s) I plug in for the second app aren’t recognized properly (Device Manager shows a UUID of all zeros…). However, if I have them plugged in all at once, they are all displayed just normally.

Does anyone have an idea, what I could do to make the cameras work? It doesn’t matter how (plugging them in all at once or one after another for the different applications), I just need them to work :)

Help would be much appreciated!
